Japanese engineering firm JFE Engineering announced on February 6 that it will introduce IBM’s artificial intelligence technology to operation of waste-to-energy plants by the end of fiscal 2017. The technology can help optimize and automatize the operation, which has proved effective by the experiment.
IBM’s cognitive technology can analyze information such as texts, images, audio and video and learn from the big data, assisting the human’s decision-making and businesses.
Integrating accumulated information such as knowledge and experiences of skilled workers with the data collected from the plant, AI identifies the optimal approach to to problems and gives instructions to the human. With the cognitive technology, the company’s 24-hour remote management system JFE Hyper Remote is expected to provide more labor-saving and automatized operation. (2017/02/07)
