OCAIJ, VACC Hold Meeting in Tokyo

The Overseas Construction Association of Japan held a meeting in Tokyo with a delegation of Vietnamese Association of Construction Contractors led by Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hiep. As the two sides discussed about such issues as human resources development at the first visit of VACC, Mr. Hiep requested cooperation from the Japanese companies.

Japanese participants included Kajima, Obayashi, Shimizu, Taisei, Takenaka and Toa. The leader of OCAIJ welcomed the delegation at the opening address, saying “Vietnam is a rapidly growing economy and is a significant partner to Japan.”

VACC is one of the largest groups of Vietnamese construction industry with some 600 memberships. Mr. Hiep explained about the major construction contractors in the nation and said, “Japanese companies have the most advanced engineering technologies in the world. Technology transfer and capacity building are much appreciated.” While Mr. Ha, a leader of Vinaconex hoped to know how Japanese companies train engineers, Mr. Dung, Chairman of CCI said “We would like to the management of construction businesses, know-hows of capacity development.” (2017/3/8)
