Japanese Contractor Kumagai-Gumi Completes Framework of Taipei’s Luxury High Rise Condos

Kumagai Taiwan, a subsidiary of Japanese construction company completed on November 16 framework of luxury condominiums Tao Zhu Yin Yuan in Taipei City, Taiwan which are developed by BES Engineering Corp. Starting in August 2013, construction of the unique double-spiral structure has attracted great attention globally.

The 21-story building of 43,000m2 total floor area will have 40 apartments. Designed by French architect Vincent Callebaut, the tower will carry 23,000 trees planted on the ground and balconies, which can absorb 130 ton CO2 annually.

At the ceremony held on the day, President Yasushi Higuchi of Kumagai expressed his appreciation upon the milestone, describing the project “very challenging in terms of structural engineering.” Completion is expected in September 2017. (2016/11/17)
